Just your atypical boy-girl girl-boy ([info]publicansdecoy) wrote in [info]bigbrother_uk,
I've really enjoyed Big Brother over the past couple of weeks. The house has been, overall, much calmer, with housemates largely getting on with one another. Rather than paranoia, bitching, bullying and whinging, we've seen the housemates having fun and being entertaining. There have been some really funny moments (Pete's song, drunken Glyn), but it seems all that's going to change after tonight. 37% (37%!) of us paid good money and voted to get Nikki out and we did so for a good reason. Why can't Endemol recognise that, instead of foisting the woman back on to us?

I've had a look on the website but the only email address I can see is bblb@channel4.com. Does anybody know if there is a better route through which to make a complaint?

At this point, since it's all speculation, and even C4 hasn't confirmed this, there's not much you can do, apart from emailing them preemptively to complain (bigbrother@channel4.com, or bbhelp@channel4.com). But if it does happen tonight, you can file a complaint with Ofcom, which regulates the UK communications industry.

Fair point. I'll wait for official confirmation on this one.

More specifically http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/progs/specific/

Wait until after the program and then have a word.

Is this actually confirmed as true or are you taking the Sun as gospel?

Fair enough, I haven't seen official confirmation yet.

OK, but by that same token, 63% did not vote for Nikki to be evicted. 2/3 of voters did not want her out, that's probably why there is more of a backlash against her eviction than other housemates'.

1. With 11 housemates up, it's fair to conlcude that she was pretty much the least liked person in the house. That 37% is a huge share of the vote to get with that many housemates up.
2. It is not correct to conclude that 2/3 of the voters didn't want her out. It may well have been the case that they wanted her out, but wanted someone else out even more.

I agree. And what really bugs me is that we are just starting to see more of the people who are left, now that all the 'big' (cough) personalities are gone. Whatever we think of each of them individually, they are still there because they have played a good game (and, yes, it is a game). Now, if this twist is accurate, it means that their remaining airtime is going to be shared with a houseful of people who played a bad game and found themselves evicted fairly and squarely by the public vote. I don't want to watch those people anymore. I want to see the five people who have survived into the home straight. Theu tried this once before with Jon Tickle. Now, I liked Jon Tickle but him going back in was a real damp squib. They can't be allowed to win as they have already been evicted so what's the point of it? It can only be to give the survivors, the ones who saw off the bitching of some of these ex-housemates a hard time, in their last two weeks.

I liked Tickle too but it was rubbish when he went back in. All his little nods to the camera were terrible.

Should this be officially confirmed, I will be complaining. Big Brother's slogan is 'Who goes? You decide', which is going to be made a mockery of here.

(if anybody HAS to go back in, I'd rather it was Jonathan!)

Agreed - Jonathan is definitely someone who rightly deserves a chance. :-)

Agree with you totally on Tickle. Plus at least when he went back in there was a vote to decide which evicted housemate would be picked. from what I can gather Endemol intend to simple foist the horrific Nikki back on us.

I refuse to watch. If I never have to set eyes or ears on her again it will be too soon!

Agreed.

I think Bonnie should be given another chance ... but I'd also like to see Jonathan go back in as he never made it to the main house.

Don't think I could bare Nikki a second time around.

I'm not watching, i don't think my blood pressure can handle it.

The Sun (I think) was right about the 4 housemates up for eviction before we or the housemates knew about it, they reported it wednesday morning.

Maybe they have a mole?

According to the c4 forums teletext confirms this rumour.

Welcome back Nikki.

If Nikki does go back in ... that's me no longer watching it until she's out of the house!!

The woman drove me mad!!

My slight niggle about your post is when you say "37% (37%!) of us paid good money and voted to get Nikki out".

It was 37% of the votes, which is not 37% of "us the viewers" or even 37% of the "us the voters". Obsessive fans vote repeatedly, especially when it comes to controversial characters like Nikki.

Yeah, alright. I dare say the pro-Nikkiists voted repeatedly for Aisleyne too, though!

It's been boring lately for precisely that reason, the ratings have gone down, and - oh - be sure to post your letter of complaint to C4 on this very community board! It must be disseminated widely.
